This memorial is created in the memory of our loved one, Jean, who was born on April 14, 1915 and passed away on August 18, 2009 at the age of 94.

Jean attended Carnegie Margaret Morrison College where she received her B.S.; Rutgers University and Columbia University where she received her MLS; and New York University, where she received her MBA.

Jean held many positions of importance: Secretary to chief chemist, Hazel-Atlas Glass Co., War Training Office; Carnegie Institute of Technology; Office of Development, Columbia University; Head Librarian (business library), Union Carbide Corp.; library assistant, N.Y, Genealogical and Biographical Society.

She did extensive research of the genealogy of both branches of her family (Purviance and Flegal). Both studies were published.
